GRUMPY MOM
I just called up my mom and asked her if she'd send me $500 so I could go on a
4-day rafting trip. I could go into all the gory details of what she told me
next, but it would suffice to say that my brilliant idea was instantly axed.
Rats. I thought it was a GREAT idea and sounded like lotsa fun. Moms can
sometimes be that way though.
On Monday I walked through Provo Canyon on a trail and that was REALLY NEAT. It
made me wonder about the Rails-To-Trails issue going on in my hometown of
McPherson. Does Rails-To-Trails still have a pulse, or has it been dead for a
while? As I was walking on this trail, I realized how neat it would be to have a
path from McPherson to Lindsborg. The trail was well maintained and the whole
time I did not see one piece of litter. Many people were using the trail, from
walkers, bicyclists, skaters, joggers & moms with baby carriages. The path
was well shaded, with many benches to rest on. There were 2 water fountains
along the path, and at about the halfway point there was a (wonderful!
glorious!) public restroom. Everyone was nice and friendly, and it was obvious
that the trail was used and enjoyed by many. If the Rails-To-Trails issue is
still alive in McPherson, then I'd like to lend my support and see it happen. I
think it's a great idea.
Good luck McPherson!
Y'all take care and have a great day! KB
