Ellensboro, West Virginia 3-12-02

Howdy Everyone!
Yesterday I walked around 19 miles to Ellensboro, where I met Pastor Troy of the Nazarene Church. I spent last night in a really neat, old motel there. The rooms are really cozy and have a lot of antique furniture and such. I really enjoyed staying there. Today I'm giving talks at the middle school and that's really going well. I've had 2 classes in the morning, and will have 2 more in the afternoon. On wednesday I'll walk to West Union, then Salem, and then be in Clarksburg for the weekend. There's a rails-to-trails trail that I'll be walking on all the way to Clarksburg. I really like the trails, because it gets me off the busy, 4-lane hiway, and because the trails are generally flat, while the roads out here are VERY HILLY. So I'll be walking the trail for the next few days. I had a great time in Coolsville these last few days. I still got in on the walking, but they'd pick me up and bring me back! I met several very special families from there, and really enjoyed it. They drove me around and did quite a bit of sight-seeing, too. I went to Marietta OH, the oldest town in Ohio, and then to Williamstown, where Fenway Glass Company is. They gave me 2 glass ornaments from there, and I got to watch them blow some glass. Then I went to 2 doll factories in Bedford, and also went to Pomeroy and Middleburg, 2 old towns down by the river. On another day, Helen took me to Clarksburg, and then up to Wheeling WV and back down to Coolville, so there was quite a bit of traveling and sight-seeing while I was there. Now they're even talking about coming out to Clarksburg this wkend and taking me back to Coolville for me to spend the wkend there. We'll see. The weather has been great. It's suppose to sprinkle off & on for the next few days, but it's fairly warm -- around 55-60. I'll be staying at the motel tonight and then hitting the trail tomorrow. Y'all take care and have a great day! KB
