Howdy Everone!
On monday I walked 18 miles from Concordia to Knob Noster, and as I
was getting closer to Knob Noster, I was able to watch several Stealth B-2
Bombers taking off and flying above me. Knob Noster is home of Whiteman
Air Force Base, which is home to the B-2 Advanced Technology Bomber, the world's
most sophisticated and advanced aircraft. Watching them -- and hearing
them -- fly above me was one of the most awesome moments I can remember.
They were out practicing, and I saw one fly overhead about every 10 or 15
minutes. I counted 9, and I hope at least one of the pictures I took turns
out. If you watched the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA on New Years Day,
you probably saw the B-2 Bomber and 2 F117's fly overhead at the beginning of
the parade. The B-2 Bomber came from here, and the 2 F117's were out of
Hallomen AFB in New Mexico
This evening I'll be getting together with several people from Knob
Noster for dinner, and then on wednesday I hope to give talks at the High
School. I'll be staying at this motel tues night and also wed night, if
you'd like to give me a call. The ph# here is: 660-563-3000 Rm 111.
Take care and have a great day! KB.
