Howdy Everyone!
I sure have enjoyed the last week that I've been walking along the gulf coast.  The weather has been great -- up in the 80's -- and the sand warm.  I've done quite a bit of walking on the beach and wading in the water.
When I made my schedule up a couple years ago, I gave myself some extra time when I got to this area.  In fact, I gave myself every other day off.  For example, when I arrived at Bay Saint Louis, I took a day off.  Then the next town was Gulfport, and I took a day off.  Then I walked 12 miles to Biloxi and took a day off.  Then I walked to Ocean Springs and took a day off.  And finally I got to Pascagoula and took another day off.  It was great!  There's an epilepsy support group down in this area, so I was able to stay at peoples houses while I was walking along the Gulf.
On one evening while I was in Long Beach, the support group held a fund-raising dinner at a restaurant and I gave a talk there.  Around 40 people came to that, so that went real well.  Plus I was able to do some sight-seeing, such as visit the Aquarium, go to the Discovery Center, get a tour of the Coast Guard Station in Gulfport, stop at all of the souvenier shops, and eat a lot of seafood.  One of my favorites is eating a Shrimp Po Boy sandwich.
Last night I spent the night at the Pascagoula Fire Dept, and today I'll be walking around 17 miles and crossing in to Alabama.  I plan on stopping in Grand Bay, although I haven't figured out where I'll be staying.  I still need to work on that.  One of the guys here at the fire station lives in Grand Bay, and he'll be hauling my cart for me this morning when he goes home, so that'll be nice.  I'm only 30 miles away from Mobile and am planning on spending Easter weekend there.  Take care and have a great day!  KB
