Well, here I am in New York City. I'd been here a few times before but never had a chance to really look around. Several years ago I came up here with a very close friend and got to see the David Letterman Show. That was a blast but we just flew in for one day and it was very cold.

First of all I must say that the subway system is very cool. For only $4.00 I could go anywhere in the city, all day.

On this day my first stop was the Empire State Building. I figured that I could get a perspective of the city from up there. The elevator ride to the observatory was only $9.00. Normally $10 but I don't know why they gave me a dollar back.

Now on behalf of New York City I will have to say that the haze you see is not smog but from some fire up near Toronto Canada. The same haze had made its way down to Jersey on Saturday afternoon. It also had Philadelphia clouded in haze while I was there as well.

From the top of the Empire State Building you can see all over. Starting below is looking North, with Central Park hiding in the background.

This next shot would be looking East to Brooklyn.

Then the next one looking South towards the Financial District and Battery Park.

And finally a shot looking West to Jersey City.

Boy, one thing I have learned is that New York is filled with people. Whew, everywhere you go, there they are. However, it was very interesting watching all the people as they went through their normal daily routines.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but below is a picture of the top of a building that I think was in the movie Ghostbusters.

I walk all over lower Manhattan and the Battery Park area and yes I stopped by and saw the site. But I'm not sending any pictures or talking any more about that.

Some of the small parks were neat to see the people laying around in the sun, reading books, walking, riding bicycles, rollerblading, and just watching other people, like I was.

I was walking by the Trinity Church and just had some urge to go inside. Wow, I was glad that I did. That place was incredible inside.
