I went up to Washington D.C. a while back and just happened to notice that things up there were much smaller than they looked on TV and in books. This view is of the Washington Monument from across the wading pond at the footsteps of the Lincoln Memorial.

How I did it...
First, of course, taking a picture of the Washington Monument, beyond the "reflection pool", although I like to refer to it as the "wading pond". Taking another picture of myself I paste it right there in the picture. Easy enough. But there is more hidden difficulties here. One tough part was brushing some of the people out that were walking around in the original image. Then the real tough part came when I decided to put my reflection in the water. Taking my cut out image, I flipped it over and paste it on the water, obviously cutting the top off. I added a slight blur to it and then, using a clone effect, brushed some of  the water texture across the legs. I was quite pleased with the results but, focusing my attention on the reflection in the water, I still failed to give my creation a shadow.
