Okay, here's another strange one. I plan on using a similar image like this for one of my CD covers.
How I did it...
I know this is getting rather redundant, but its all about cutting and
pasting. I took a picture of myself posing and sitting on a stool and then cut
out the background. The "mask" feature of most graphics programs is extremely
useful, but there's lots of variables to take into consideration. As you can see
the thin outline around the head and body, means that I didn't
"feather" the mask in close enough to the body. I used a previous
picture of some sand and paste myself over the background. I then used a
dimensional lighting effect where I could direct where the light was shining and
placed it in the center, lighting up the blue glow around the body. I then paste
the globe in the center. I still plan to make this image a little better in the
future, also using a better background and adding some stars and space imagery
in the sky.
