* Cow Ant *
    The Cow Ant is really an ant but the thing is quite a bit larger than any other ant I've
ever seen. They seem to be a little over a half an inch long and have hair
much like a bumble bee with really distinctive markings. They're pretty
tough as I have once seen one have an amazing battle with a fairly large wood
spider. I have tried stepping on one of them before and felt it moving and
trying to get out from under my foot.
    One tough critter!

    I have seen many of these in Texas but I found this one in
Virginia.
