While in Shanghai, China I noticed that they were building skyscrapers
everywhere. Upon looking closer I noticed something very amazing. Instead of
steel framework around the structure they were using bamboo. Bamboo, all
over the building, all the way up and all the way around it. Used as
scaffolding for the workers to perform their duties on the outside of the
building. They carry them all in to the construction sight and tie them all
together all the way up.
I asked some people why they use bamboo instead of steel and they told
me that the workers trust the bamboo more.
In the picture are two of three skyscrapers, all fully concealed within
the bamboo scaffolding.
