This image was achieved through some fairly simple graphics effects.

 How I did it...
Taking a picture of my eyes, I performed various different effects on them. In this one I highlighted and outlined the eyeballs themselves and then performed an edge effect and converted it to a negative and enhanced the contrast and colors.
