A friend was
shooting a wedding when their camera got knocked over and
she lost a whole roll of film and many, very important
shots. One in particular was one of the most important
wedding shots of the bride and groom together, at the
alter, with her gown all spread out across the floor.
Probably the one photo that most couples end up blowing
up and sending to all their friends and family.
I scanned a picture of the groom all by himself on the
alter. Although it was a pretty good picture of him he
wasn't smiling so I cut his face from another shot and
paste it on the other one. I then had to brush out a
banister that was in the way, thus exposing what would be
the bottom of the candelabra. I was able to cut it out of
another picture and repaired that.
I took the best shot I could find of the bride with her
gown, cut her out and paste her on the new image with the
groom. I had to adjust her height to match and even got
the grooms hand around her waste. I had to brush out a
little piece of the existing banister from her gown.
Now came another challenge. The bottom of her gown in
that picture spread out and extended down further than I
could accomplish in the new shot. I was able to cut off
the bottom of her gown and flattened it up. I then
reattached it and blended everything together. Since all
of these pictures were all taken at various distances I
actually had to blur certain parts to make them blend in
with the others.
Now look very close at the picture and notice that I
didn't take the extra time to do anything about the
groom's shadow on the floor which proves that the bride
wasn't really in that particular picture.
The couple was very happy with the end results and bought
quite a few 8X10 prints to send to friends and family.
