* Yellowstone Elk *

Quite an awesome catch, this large elk was just grazing on the side of the road. Unfortunately, there in Yellowstone National Park, many of the animals have become accustomed to the people so much that they really don't act like real, wild animals. Although its such a treat to see one of these creatures in their natural habitat and up so very close I still get the feeling like I'm just one step away from a petting zoo.

It was such a truly magnificent creature though. Especially when it startled all the spectators as it crossed over the fence and passed through the traffic to escape into the woods on the other side of the road.
