Okay, now this was a real treat. Now I had heard that the turkey vultures did this down in Baja but I thought it was just a myth. As I drove by several of them standing on the tops of the cactus they all had their wings down. Right as I passed I looked at one, it looked at me and raised its wings. I quickly stopped and turned around and pulled off of the road. Then, to my amazement, the rest of them turned and looked at me and also raised their wings. 

Now I was thinking that they probably did this to cool themselves off in the breeze but it sure did seem strange. I also thought that they might have been hoping that I would lay down on the ground for a while. 

After a few moments they all lowered their wings again and I went on my way.
