* Faster than Me * |
Obviously the hummingbirds are quicker than I am. But occasionally I can get a shot of them as their zipping around in the air. This one here was on approach and heading towards the feeder. I was really hoping to get a shot of one of them as it was observing me. They often hover directly over my head and watch me. But as fast as they are its very difficult to get that shot. Especially since they more often do that about a foot behind my head. Then, of course, as I turn around they zip off, laughing at me. (Or at least that's what it seemed like to me).
Like a hunter sitting in a deer stand, waiting for the helpless prey to come and feed on the bait, I sometimes feel somewhat guilty for stalking these poor animals right at their feeder. I feel like I'm cheating and not thoroughly getting a shot of a truly wild animal. Like a skilled hunter just waiting for a poor helpless animal to walk directly in front of the barrel.
But, of course, at least when I shoot
them,
I'm not blowing their feathers all over the sky.
