Today I decided to go back and revisit Newfoundland, Canada. In particular, the seasonal home of Joe Gale. From my Great American Adventure back in 2002, I stopped to visit with this eccentric old man. Not far from the ferry town of Port aux Basques, you can drive by and often see Joe out front waving at the cars as they go by on the highway. Well, as long as he is off from fishing season. In front of his house Joe has a family of dummies hanging out and, in the evenings, the house is adorned with Christmas lights. He keeps a guest book of all the visitors that stop by. The guest book is actually his whole living room wall.
