This image has been touched up just a bit to bring out the brightness that the camera could not capture. However, no colors were changed.

Here's another shot of the northern lights (Aurora Borealis), taken from the ferry ride back from Alaska. This is where I plug in a shameless plea for a new camera. Any donations? Hey, if everybody on my list sent me $5.00 I could get an awesome camera. Hee hee.

Well, anyway, I would have loved to have gotten better pictures of the event, buy my camera's settings were just a little too primitive and I could not get real clear images of this spectacular light display. But of course I'm not sure I could have gotten much better images due to the motion of the ferry anyway. But I did quite a bit of adjusting on the computer in order to bring out the image as far as I could.

But I was fortunate on this trip to have seen the northern lights quite like this. The captain of the ferry actually told me that this was the most impressive display that he had seen in his whole 5 years on that route.
