* Mimosa Plant *

When you hear the word Mimosa, what do you think about? Well some people think of a cocktail with champagne and orange juice, often times consumed in the mornings. Others might think of the pretty tree that grows in the southern states and produces these beautiful pink blossoms. But many don't realize that there are many different types of the Mimosa plant. Some of them are actually very small and grow in vines across the ground, much like this one pictured here. And there are even other types that are very similar, but actually have leaves that can move very quickly. Much like the movement of a Venus Fly Trap, they can actually protect themselves by closing their leaves from a single touch.
