* Tenaya Lake, Yosemite *

Along highway 120 through the north side of Yosemite National Park is three lakes. This one here was actually just warm enough to get in. Although I didn't feel like taking a swim at that very moment, I did dunk my dirty hair and head in the water to clean and cool off.

Larry just laughed at the fact that his hair wasn't dirty.

* Bikers be careful out there *
While riding around the busy and congested Yosemite park that day, Larry had a very close call. As he was coming around a corner, a minivan coming the opposite direction crossed the center of the road and just clipped Larry with their rear-view mirror. Both vehicles were traveling at approximately 40 mph each, making it an 80 mph impact.
As I was riding some distance behind Larry I first thought that they had poured water out of their window as I saw bright sparkles fly and fall to the ground. Later we had discovered that the sparkles were from the glass shattering from their rear-view mirror. Larry immediately began to shake his left hand in pain, as their mirror had clipped his clutch handle, slamming it into his knuckles. He then pulled off to the side of the road where we assessed the damage and situation and waited for a while. The other vehicle never turned around and never returned to the scene, which was probably a good thing for them as Larry was not a happy camper at that moment and had to take some time to cool down.
Larry came out very lucky with only bruising his knuckles.
Of course I think he wanted to cry, but he didn't want me to think he was a sissy. ha ha.
