I thought that a cat's normal reaction is to stalk and attack any living creature that flutters or scurries across the ground. But apparently they are not quite as dumb as I had originally presumed. Samantha didn't quite know what to think of the tarantula. Especially after the first contact when the tarantula raised its front legs in an attack pose. After that Samantha just curiously observed the fuzzy arachnid from a safe distance.
