So here is a shot of my sister holding our dog, Rusty.
My sister was a little more than a year older than myself. And strangely
enough, she still is.
But, while growing up we were always very close and
tried our best to take care of each other as much as we could. Of course with
her being a little older and bigger, and usually much smarter, she mostly took
care of me.
I recall a time in Waco when my cousin and I had found
some pomegranates growing on a tree in a neighbor's yard. We didn't know what
they were, but after breaking them open on the sidewalk, found them to be
quite delicious. So we took some home, climbed up in the big oak tree in the
back yard, and proceeded to eat them. When my sister had discovered what we
were doing, rather than join us, she told on us, in fear that we might poison
ourselves. We did get in a bit of trouble. But I do understand that she was,
as always, watching out for me.
