* Harris Hawks *

A few weeks ago, as I was leaving one morning, I caught a glimpse of these three raptors in a small dead tree, just across the fence from our property. As soon as I stopped the car and opened the door, I heard them making very a loud screeching noise. I tried to get some good shots of them, but the lighting in the background was just too bright, and all I got was their silhouettes.
But I have a suspicion that I might be able to get to see them some more, in the future, and get more shots of them. Apparently they live in a large tree about 200 yards away.
And as long as all these people around here keep feeding the small birds and critters, I'm sure these three predators will continue to enjoy the plethora of food supply provided here at the local wildlife grocery store.
