* Technology *

This is a close up shot of an ink-jet print head from an Epson printer.
I had actually disassembled this printer for a friend to try physically clean up the print head which had become totally clogged and encrusted with dried up ink.
Some printers actually have the print heads built into each ink cartridge. But most of the Epson brand printers have much higher quality, permanent print heads. This is better for overall performance, but presents some other problems if the print head gets clogged up. Cleaning the heads starts to become quite an annoying chore.

Technology and printing advancements over the past decade has grown in leaps and bounds. With the microscopic jets in these print heads, we are now able to produce amazing photo-quality prints, with incredible resolution. It is my firm opinion, that with a good camera, and a good lens, and a good printer, we can now go way beyond conventional film photography.
