NEXT

 Not far into southern Oregon I got stopped by an actual cattle drive. It took them a few moments to get the cows far enough off of the highway for me to pass, so I took a few pictures of them. 
I'm not sure how far these cowboys had been driving this herd, but I know I saw signs of them for at least 10 more miles down the road, after I had passed them. And don't even ask me what signs I saw that caused me to come to that conclusion. I'll leave that to your imaginations.

This moment reminded me of some years ago, during my stay in Montana, where I worked at an uncle's ranch. Yep, I was one of those cowboys driving the cattle across the land.
