* Lunar Shot *

If you explore back into my archives, through the "Atmosphericals" section, you can find various pictures of the moon. And of course at various levels of resolution and intensity. But now, with my new camera, I am certainly able to acquire shots with much better quality. Of course a stronger telephoto lens would also provide me with even more detail of such celestial bodies. But hey, I guess the best way to get a really good shot of the moon is to take a ride on the Hubble Space telescope. Or another way might be to make a deal with NASA and just go there in a rocket. But I don't see that happening any time soon, so I'll just settle for the fact that there will always be better images of the moon already.

But if you're an astronomy nerd/geek like me, and you really want to check out the universe from the safety and comfort of your own computer, you should do a search on the internet and download the program "Celestia", currently at: http://www.shatters.net/celestia/. This program is totally free, and is totally amazing. I was actually just looking for a simple program that I could use to find and track the stars and planets, and was totally surprised at the functionality and versatility of this software. You can track any star, and view any planet or star from any perspective in space. You and can go to, speed up, or even reverse time to view various celestial events throughout history.
