Playing on the computer one night I came up with this little graphic and thought it looked interesting. Then I added some real stars in the background for effect. 

However I was a bit disappointed when I compressed it down to size. Even this larger version doesn't do it justice, and the full image I made is pretty cool. But it's also pretty big.

This image was created mostly by using a "pinch" effect, where the computer pinches the image into whatever specified central point you desire. Taking any bright object in an image, and pinching it, over and over, can provide some interesting results. Then I have to enhance it and resample as the object gets smaller and smaller. The end result looks like something exploded, rather than shrunk down.
I have actually used this effect numerous times in the past.
