* Sydney Neighborhood *

Just as I am tired of sending only new images, from recent adventures. Well, and especially since I haven't been doing much adventuring lately, I am digging back into the archives to previous trips and photos. But one of the problems is the fact that some of these older and previous images were taken with my first and older digital cameras, with much earlier technology and very poor quality. So what do I do with all these images. Well, the best option would be to travel to these places again and take more pictures. Unfortunately you all have not been providing me with the donations to provide me this lucrative necessity. So for now I will have to just resample and smooth out these images as best as I can. So just we would have to scan and adjust older prints, I can also do with the digital images. Unfortunately, just like trying to add color to a black and white image, it's almost impossible to enhance what is not really there, and you can only make so many adjustments before the image is not even real any more.

In this case I took an old shot of a neighborhood area of Sydney, Australia, with part of the downtown skyline in the background. I resized the heck out of it, smoothed out the pixelation, and then sharpened it back, just a touch.

Some of the older images are a bit easier to work with while others just seem to be a waste and cannot be salvaged. But as I have upgraded from camera to camera over the past years, so have the quality of my photos. And with each upgrade I often wonder how or even why I even bothered with the previous cameras and have been so much more disappointed with the quality.
