In browsing around for various different places in the past, I keep coming across these shots of Skydive Orange and it makes me realize how much I miss that place, the sport, and most of all, my friends.
I took this shot from a helicopter back in August of 2003. Since then there have been many changes to the drop zone and airport. But I haven't seen it or had the chance to go out there since I moved away in 2004.
Previously, for financial reasons, I had to back away from the sport a little bit. But at least I got to jump from time to time as I could afford it. But now, although I love looking at these pictures, it pains me that still cannot jump because of my remaining injuries.
However, I guess I should say that I
could actually jump if I really wanted to. After all, skydiving is the easy
part. It's the landing that may be the problem, since I cannot run. So in trying
not to use my right leg during a landing, in order to try to protect it from
further injuries, I fear that I may end of breaking my left leg.
And then I just wouldn't have a leg to stand on.
My doctor did actually tell me that I could jump again. But he wanted me to tape his business card to my chest so they would know where to deliver me after I get to the ground.
