* Full Rainbow *

Although a full rainbow is not totally uncommon for this area, I still stood there fascinated for quite some time as I took photo after photo of this one. And for a period of time, it was also a double rainbow. Although I didn't get a good clear shot of that.

But this particular event revealed to me a few things.

 For one, as I had posted prior, the polarizing filter can be used to better capture the brilliance of a rainbow, where the camera actually attempts to intentionally diminish it. And by turning and adjusting the filter, you can also make the rainbow completely vanish from view. (Which is actually the purpose of a polarizing filter) But what I just realized was that the two sides of the rainbow are at different angles of the light refraction. So, while adjusting the filter one way makes one side of the rainbow bright, while filtering out the other side, and visa-versa.
So in adjusting to capture the whole rainbow, I had to turn the filter as I panned for the numerous shots it took to capture the whole rainbow.

The second thing I realized was that I either need a wide-angle lens, or I need to re-install my panoramic stitching software. Because I just couldn't get this whole view in one shot.
