Sitting there on the table between Larry and I, hanging out at the pool, is my sister's plastic yard-art frog.
Now, as some of you long-time subscribers may recall, this simple piece of yard-art has been around quite a bit and has a little bit of history.
During my motorcycle trip around the
country, back in 2002, I stopped to visit my sister in Oregon and had to take
advantage of the moment and ridicule her for having a piece of yard-art,
something in which we often joked about when we were younger, and had speculated
how silly yard-art was. Well, there it was, sitting in her flower bed. So, on my
way back on the road, I stole the frog from her yard, stuffed it down into my
bags, and took it with me around the rest of my journey, and kept it. I moved
from Virginia to Arizona back in 2004, and naturally, brought the frog with me.
But during his motorcycle trip down here to visit, in August of 2005, Larry
ended up taking the frog back to Oregon with him and returned it to my sister.
But a few months ago, as he was about to embark on an extended trip down here
from Oregon, Larry stopped by my sister's house to say "goodbye". But
she was not at home.
So Larry went into her back yard, and stole the frog again, and brought it with
him.
