After taking thousands of photos over the years, and learning so many different ways of subtle enhancements myself, I have come to notice so many images in magazines and other publications that have been obviously touched up to bring out various colors and visualizations, and make the image more than what the reality of nature provides. Of course we all know how they will so often brush up models to take out blemishes and alter certain facial features and body parts, just to make them appear more appealing than what is natural. But I've noticed so many other images that have been enhanced that it makes me doubt any beautiful shot of a rainbow, or amazing sunset, or even the most simple landscapes. But for my normal daily postings I just can't pull myself to lie in that way. So I will just have to save these alterations for my Graphical images, like this one.

Here you might be able to tell that the image on the left has been enhanced, and the one on the right is the original. Altering the contrast, brightness, and intensity can bring out more of the blue in the sky, and create deeper tones in the surrounding landscape. However, if the original image was not provided, one might never consider that the photo has been touched up at all, and just take it for granted that it is a real shot. Especially if I only adjusted it slightly. Given just a bit more time and attention I could easily work to bring out the sky more and still keep the detail and color of the tree.

Either way, I would feel guilty in enhancing my images to that point of losing the real depiction of what I experienced at that moment. But I might be more inclined to take my imagination and try to come up with something totally new and different and special. And all of those images will probably be tossed in the bucket with all the rest of my Graphical experiments.
