March, 1971

A young, 7 year old boy happened upon a cute little pine tree only three
inches tall. He dug it out of the ground, placed it in a small milk carton
and, like a stray animal, brought it home where he and his parents where
temporarily living with his grandparents.
He asked his grandmother if he could plant it somewhere in the yard
whereupon she gladly told him yes and even showed him a nice little place in
the front where he could put it. She went outside with him and helped him
dig a hole and helped him plant it, water it, and take care of it while it
secured its roots into the earth.

        November, 1998

A young 35 year old boy went to Oregon to attend his Grandmother's
funeral, just a few weeks before her 103rd birthday. He went back to the
house where he had lived for a while when he was younger, and took a picture
of a tree that brought back wonderful memories of a time where things seemed
so much more simple and where Grandmothers where the most special people in the world.
The tree had now grown to over fifty feet tall and is still growing strong.

Never forget all the simple things in life and those who helped make them special.
It's a compilation of all these things that are what makes us who we are today.
