* A Tree with a Twist *

Hanging onto the edge of a cliff, overlooking Bryce Canyon, in Utah, this dead tree had an interesting trait about it. I'm not sure how or why, but this tree had grown up with a very noticeable twist. The swirls rose up from the base and all the way to the top.

As a seedling, did it get confused by the direction of the sunlight? Maybe twisting once, every season the sun rose high in the sky, and then lowered again?

Or did native American Indians once use this poor tree as some kind of courage and bravery ritual?
"Mmm, Dances-With-Trees, I dare you to swing out over canyon!"
"Hmm, should have named him, "Drops-Like-Rock."
