* Green in Arizona? Where? *

I just had a friend make a comment about how brown everything looks out here. Well, this is a desert so they were not very far from accuracy. Although I do see all the brown every day myself, and its certainly not near as green as other places around this world, there is still more green areas here than you would think. There are various forms of cactus that are quite green. But there is also a lot of Palo Verde and mesquite trees as well as a variety of other vegetation. Granted, they are all still considerably small compared to other areas. But there is also a lot of pine trees up in the mountains. Like the green you see at the top of Mt. Lemmon here.

It is quite interesting how it often looks so very different from one day to the next. Depending upon the sunlight throughout the days it can change appearance quite dramatically.
