* Mountain Laurel *

From the Blue Ridge Mountains, in Virginia, here's a picture of some mountain laurel.

What fascinates me is how some totally different plants can produce very similar blossoms. This mountain laurel grows on the limbs of the tree. I found an almost identical flower in Newfoundland. But the strange thing was on a small flowering plant that grows on the ground. You can find it in my "Great American Adventure" pages.
