Here's another example of brushing out objects. Well, in this shot, obviously, brushing out people.
It was a beautiful summer's
afternoon at Bondi Beach, in Sydney, Australia. I was admiring all the beauty
around me, when I happened to notice, walking right towards me, this
exceptionally lovely young lady.....
and her mother.
Now I'm sure that her mother was a wonderful person. But I really just wanted a picture of the girl. So, with a little time and effort, I got it.
How I did it:
This one actually took me a while because I really didn't have all that much to
work with in the background, behind the mother. So I carefully brushed and
cloned bits and pieces from the left of the girl, to the right, over the mother.
Then trying to match up the waves and surf was an interesting feat. But, of
course, water is so random it makes it a lot easier to get away with
imperfections.
Another option that could have worked, and I have done in the past, would have
been to copy bits and pieces from a totally different image, without people in
it. But of course, sometimes contrast and brightness aren't the same between the
images and you have to make adjustments accordingly.
