Unlike the more common praying mantis, this, much smaller member of the mantis family (approximately 1.5 inches in length) had a very differently shaped head, with points on each side that looked a lot like ears. However, I'm still not quite sure what happened to this little critter as it seemed to be missing an eye on the left side.
