* Carl Gali *

The Genius at work.
Carl Gali is my uncle, my father's brother. Pictured here he is seen, behind a blue flame, as we burn off some of the natural gas from a new process that he has developed to extract fuel from sewage and municipal waste.

For most of his life Carl has been an engineer and inventor. He had worked for Texas Instruments until his retirement back in the 80's. Developing various new designs and equipment and processes involved with the manufacturing of silicon and various other semiconductor materials.

A true genius in every sense of the word, he never ceases to amaze me as his mind is always thinking and creating. Over the years he has developed nine patents to his name. Some of which were in the designs and engineering of air conditioning systems and compressors which would work with using Nitrogen as the refrigerant, instead of the common "ozone-depleting" Freon. Other patents are devices that actually will revive, recondition and maintain lead acid batteries.
But these inventions are only a very small touch on the many skills that this man possesses.

A wonderful uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he is loved and admired by many. He has just celebrated his 76th birthday out here in Tucson, where he lives with his wonderful wife, Marvis.

As we live our lives we are constantly being confronted with problems and complications. And there is often very special people there to help out. Whether it be bailing us out of a financial bind with a loan or assistance, or giving us a place to stay for some period of time between homes or living conditions, or just presenting us with good useful advice and moral support. These people are very special in our lives and definitely deserve immeasurable rewards.

So, over the years, many things have happened in my life and many people have been there for me to help me out. But there is not one person in my life that can come even close to all the things that my dear uncle Carl has done for me. With all of his wisdom, he has given me advice, assistance, and support, and has taught me more about life than anybody. No matter what has happened, he has always been there to help me out. And bless him, he has been there through so many.

Now, don't get me wrong. I have always loved my father. But while growing up, he always seemed more like an older brother, that was always in and out of trouble. Yeah, with dad I learned a great deal. Usually all the things you should NOT do in life.

But Carl has always felt more like a father to me than an uncle and I will always be grateful in ways that cannot be expressed. I recall, in the past, on occasions referring to him as "Uncle Dad".
I can honestly say that, if it wasn't for him in my life, I would certainly not be a fraction of the person that I am today and would be afraid to even imagine where I would be without him. I am so proud of him and respect him in every way, and as much as I ever can be, I will always be there for him.

I feel so fortunate to now be here in Arizona and to be able to spend so much more time with him. Again he has provided me with the support and assistance that has helped me so much. I only wish that there was any possible way that I could be able to return all of the favors that he has given me over the years.

A very very big thanks to my best friend and uncle.
You're the best!.
