Now I really need your help people. This thing really freaked me out. As I was walking along the beach down at Rocky Point, I came across this small, shallow tide pool and saw this strange shape in the bottom. On the surface there it looked to be only about 1" to 1.5" in diameter. Wondering what it was and thinking it may have been some strange type of sand dollar or tiny star fish or something, I began to reach in the water and wave around it and was just about ready to reach down and touch it when it moved. And boy did it ever move. This thing thrust itself back under the surface of the sand so hard and so fast it created a big cloud around it. It was obviously something much larger than what it appeared to be, with a very large portion of it somewhere beneath the surface. Not exactly sure of what I was dealing with I decided not to dig and try to figure it out. So I just left it there.

So if anybody has ever seen one of these things please enlighten me as to what it was, and possibly how close I might have become to being eaten by it.
