In following the theme to last week's posting, here I have attached the image that I touched up to use for the other one. I took a NASA archive image of the earth and simply changed the colors to a dingy brown. I physically, hand drew the mask over the lower part of the globe, giving it a type of sheeting appearance, as if the brown was running off and the clean planet was underneath. I then copied this mask and carefully matched and placed it over the original image. Then I performed a gradient effect so that it got darker towards the bottom of the earth. 

A thought for another image is that of a massive bottle above the planet, spraying (cleaning) the planet. Over a white background, there could also be a large drip of black, at the very bottom of the planet, as if all the "gunk" was dripping off. And/or as we clean the planet we are creating oil, as the drip could possibly drop into and/or turn into a gas pump.

Just a few of the thoughts running through my head.
