Quite some time ago somebody had sent me one of those forward of a forward of a forwarded emails with a picture of some lightning. Supposedly it was a lightning strike during a forest fire. But something about the picture struck me (pun) as odd, and the actual lightning bolt looked a bit familiar. So after a brief search on the internet I actually found the original photo of the lightning strike that I had seen before, from another image. The lightning strike during the forest fire was a fake. 

So, I decided to take a few of my own images and see what I could come up with. The background is that of a real rainbow picture somewhere north of Phoenix, and the lightning strike was from one of my previous lightning shots during the monsoon season. (click here). So, with a few adjustments here and there I merged the two together in the same picture and came up with this shot. I thought it was cool enough to share. So feel free to download it and send it out to all your friends and maybe my picture can get spread around the internet and people will actually think that it's real as well. ha ha, enjoy.
