* Mica *

Can you see through a stone? Well, of course you can. As various spectrums of light can pass through many stones like diamonds and quartz, they allow us to be able to see through them. Mica is no exception. Well, as long as you break it down into thinner slices.

While exploring up around Mt. Lemmon I find a lot of Mica. Mica is a very interesting stone. As you can see in this picture, these slices are all from one piece that I picked up. Easily split apart, the thinner slices even become somewhat flexible.

A quick search on the internet will provide you with a great deal of information about this interesting mineral.
