* Cholla Cactus *

I have, on numerous occasions before, posted pictures of the cholla cactus. Even before I knew how to spell it. This image was actually taken back in 1998, during a trip to Arizona. The cholla, or as some people call them, "Jumpin' Cholla", are a very interesting cactus. They grow in a very strange fashion and shape. The small ends of the branches fall off of the plant very easily and will attach themselves to anything passing by, which makes them seem to be able to "jump" onto you as you walk past them. Like Velcro, the ends of the thorns have an extremely tiny hook on each one, making it attach very easily to clothing and skin.
