* Ripe Grapefruit *

I never realized that citrus fruit took so long to ripen. But here in Arizona, finally in December, it appears that the citrus fruit have all finally reached the end of their cycle. I had previously posted a picture of this same grapefruit back in May, and they have finally gotten ripe by December. As you can see these grapefruit got rather large. As a matter of fact they are just about the largest grapefruit I have ever seen. However they did have an extremely thick peel and the inside was about average. But it was the best tasting grapefruit I have ever seen.

Now this is actually a picture of the same exact fruit I had posted before, only much larger, and at a slightly different angle.

They actually reminded me of a strange fruit I found in China many years ago. I had never seen this fruit before and never got a defined name from the people there. But they were extremely large, had a very tough, leathery, thick peel, and were very tasty inside.
